1 Background

After 2-month strikes by NLC/TUC, the National Minimum Wage was raised from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000/month in July 2024. The Act also changed the review cycle from every 5 years to every 3 years going forward, and provided enforcement teeth: companies paying below the minimum face up to ₦500,000 fines per violation plus criminal liability for directors.
