Criminalised human trafficking and created NAPTIP — repealed and re-enacted by the 2015 Act.
This Act criminalised human trafficking and established the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to prosecute offenders and protect victims. Originating from a WOTCLEF-sponsored bill, it was amended in 2005 to stiffen penalties and was repealed and re-enacted by the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015.
