Nigeria's principal counter-terrorism statute (amended 2013) — repealed by the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022.
The Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2011 criminalised acts of terrorism and terrorism financing and empowered security agencies to proscribe organisations. Its 2013 amendment added extraterritorial application, strengthened terrorism-financing offences and made the Office of the National Security Adviser the coordinating body. It was repealed and replaced by the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022.
