01 Background

Signed in May 2022 alongside the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 repealed the 2011 Act (as amended in 2013). It strengthens proscription, terrorism-financing offences and inter-agency coordination and aligns Nigeria more closely with FATF counter-terrorism-financing standards.
